Design and Construction Since 1980

This site had five primary design challenges.  The home is located at the bottom of a very steep slope in the Oakland hills on a narrow twisting road with limited off street parking.   The homeowner wanted safe access from the street, to gain some off street parking, and the recent removal of a large pine tree left a large stump mid slope that could not be taken out.

During our first consultation we found that the homeowner was one of the Spuddle Brothers a blue grass group in Oakland and the challenges became an amphitheater for the group and their many musician friends to perform.  The stump was affectionately named the 'pork stump' (just because) and it was the beginning of outdoor concerts and incredible fun for everyone.

Check out Eric's blog for the history (we are mentioned in the last paragraph) and Google Pork Stump to find UTube videos of the group performing at the Port Stump and many other venues.
